Festival Ready … Coachella & more…

It’s Festival time, Coachella just around the corner. While enjoying partying and dancing the night away, you need to make sure that your face, at the very least, stays as clean and flawless as possible.

Here are a few beauty/makeup tips to survive the festival:-

  • Tinted moisturizer with SPF:  Tinted moisturizer is a great product for spending the day outdoors because it gives you lightweight coverage, moisturizes and hydrates your skin and protects it from sunburn. Just apply a thin, even layer over your face using your fingertips for a lightweight, dewy finish.
  • blush and/or bronzer: blush in a light wash across the apples of your cheeks and cheekbones with a small blush brush.

  •  Mascara: since eye makeup has a tendency to run if you’re outdoors in the sun all day. You’ll need a waterproof mascara to stay throughout the festival. I would probably use Lancome Hypnose Mascara.
  • False Eyelashes: You can just skip the eye makeup since you’ll be outdoors all the time and for long hours, false lashes by #ishimmerlashes are designed to be super light weight for you to barely feel on. You can shop your lashes, by clicking here.
  • Brighten your lips with a swipe of Matte lipstick to stay put all day long.
  • Spray: You might want to use Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. Lightly mist it across your finished makeup look and it will hold your makeup in place for up to 16 hours.
  • Side TIP: Don’t have a mirror to apply your makeup? Use the front camera on your iPhone as a video mirror. We do this all the time and it really works!

The Power of Blue

bella blue “I think fashion trends are moving away from minimalism,” celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose tells (Refinery29). “You see bolder colors, prints and embellished items… so, in turn, you see fun, colorful, and decorative makeup like blue shadow really coming back in a big way.”

We saw blue eyeshadow rocking the runway but little did we know that it would actually turn into a trend that almost everyone is willing to try it. Pastel and metallic eyeshadows are more accepted and used for all skin tones, now its a royal darkish blue that’s waving the eye makeup look. So does it work on absolutely everyone? YES and here’s how.

From my perspective I actually believe that the cobalt blue eyeshadow has nothing to do with skin tone, it’s just a matter of self confidence whether you want to get noticed wearing it or not and be completely shy about it. However some of the shades suit one skin tone more than the other.

maquillaje-3a-a1- It’s way easier to apply – Rule #1 try not to make it look so perfect, the whole point of it is just applying it on the eye making it look disconnected and undone.

2- Tone it down – since you are going bold on the eyes tone it down with the lipstick, mascara, eyeliner and false lashes (Ishimmer : La Belle Lashes, Vamp Lashes and Cluster Lashes). Multiple celebrity makeup artists suggest to go for a dewy skin look rather than the matte look, just to keep the skin looking fresh and vibrant.

3- Smoke it – you can use two shades of blue for a smoky eye effect, only this time it’s blue, for an eye opening look you can add a shimmered eyeshadow towards the inner corners of the eyes.

4- If you want to take this trend one step at a time you can start with a blue wing eyeliner that’s on the upper lid, or a blue eyeshadow that’s traced along the lower lash line. shay-mitchellAccording to Elle Magazine, darker skin tones tend to look better with aquamarine/ teal shades of blue, when lighter skin tones tend to look better with cobalt, royal and darker shades of blue. But really just like I said, I think you can flaunt any shade of blue no matter the skin tone, it’s a statement look just depends if you’re up for it or not.

The Chanel bags under my eye…

Most of us tend to just sweep a layer of concealer to the entire under eye area a super-thick concealer and heaps of powder. WHY?  Movement plus thick concealer and powder equals WEIRD UNBLENDED MAKEUP LINES. The product will settle into the naturally occurring lines under your eyes, wrong. I mean this is a perfect way to cover up zits and blemishes but not the right way for under eye circles.

Two Ways to Conceal the Bags:

1- To Really conceal bags, it’s best to highlight the crease and then apply a darker shade to the actual puffy area.

2- Use a lightweight concealer with a slight color-canceling (Color-Canceling Loose  Powder (CC Powder) or Color Correctors) undertone and blend well. The color of your circles will depend on the undertone that you go for. If your circles are purple or blueish, look for a concealer with a salmon or orangey tone; if your circles appear black or greenish, look for one with a slight yellow tint. Generally (but not always), light complexions will need the salmon tones and darker skin will need the yellow. kylie-jenner-schaut-ernst

Contour Kit…

Anastasia Beverly Hill, Contour Kit. A palette with six shades, three for contouring and three for highlighting. Darker shades of the palette are for shading and defining while lighter shades are made to enhance features. The set contains all the colors to emphasize the jawlines, cheekbones, lips, browbones, eyes and nose.

Its variety of shades are suitable for most skin tones. For those with lighter skin, contour using Fawn. Those with medium skin should stick to Java. And lastly those with darker skin should be using Havana. I think all the highlight shades are fabulous and like there is a shimmer one as well. I especially love Banana as its yellow undertones mask virtually any redness and is perfect for setting your under eye concealer.

Anastasia-Beverly-Hills-Contour-Kit-Light-to-Medium-Review

Contour + Highlight Tip:  Draw lines down either side of your nose with a shade 2-3 tones darker than your skin tone. This gives the illusion of a longer, slimmer nose. You can also apply the darker shade under your cheekbones to exaggerate them. The key is to BLEND. You can also apply the contour on your jawline to define and slim your face. Dab a highlighter on the top of cheekbones, your cupid’s bow and down the center of the nose for a dewy finish. There you have it xxx

Eye Do

Eye do Liquid Liner, Eyebrow Gel by Eyeko. After hearing multiple reviews, I decided to try Eyeko’s very own Eye Do liner, and I loved it. It really reached my expectations,  it’s easy to hold,  trace the line and perfect the cat eye look in just a second.image
As for the Eye brow Gel, I usually use the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder, I mean I still do. But the Eyebrow Gel by Eyeko can be used daily, day and night. I normally use the Anastasia Beverly Hills with Eyeko Brow Gel at night together, on occasions.

La Voilette, The “Face Veil”

The biggest hair trend to come off the spring runways was the voilette.ee Now, a sheer or mesh black face veil can look superchic and kind of kick-ass. However if you do not know how to wear it well, let’s leave it there.

Worry no more, an exclusive tip from the expert: Milliner Gigi Burris and accessories designer Jennifer Behr, “I think voilettes have a modernity about them” Burris prefers a voilette that hits just above the lips.

“Keep the hair back and somewhat undone so that it doesn’t feel fussy or compete with your voilette. For me, the secret is to keep the hair simple and pulled of the face so it doesn’t look costumey. untitledConfidence is most important when wearing a statement accessory like this.” .

TIP: For a more dramatic look, Behr suggests wearing red lipstick, like we saw at Chanel, gives a veil a casual vibe.
