For Flawless Foundation

When foundation is done wrong, there’s no hiding the mistake. You need to learn/ know how to apply it because a bad foundation always shows.

Use a Brush: Spread foundation into the skin with light, circular motions. This technique also lets you use less product and build coverage, since it’s easier to add more foundation than to take off excess.

Apply foundation everywhere: You probably already know to blend foundation past your jawline and onto the neck, but if your neckline is showing, you’ll want to blend the color there too. Plus, don’t forget the ears! Fair-skinned complexions in particular are susceptible to redness on the ears. P.S. blend a light layer of foundation over your eyelids and lips.

Use highlighter before foundation: there’s no strict or defined way of applying makeup, some people apply concealers before foundation others don’t but I can tell you what actually works. for a subtle natural look, you can actually apply your highligher before the foundation so the glow looks more natural, as if it’s actually coming from your face (natural light). Having the highligher applied before your foundation can help last a full day, I don’t know about you but when I apply the highligher after foundation it tends to get a little dull throughout the day. Having it underneath, gives that glow.

The Chanel bags under my eye…

Most of us tend to just sweep a layer of concealer to the entire under eye area a super-thick concealer and heaps of powder. WHY?  Movement plus thick concealer and powder equals WEIRD UNBLENDED MAKEUP LINES. The product will settle into the naturally occurring lines under your eyes, wrong. I mean this is a perfect way to cover up zits and blemishes but not the right way for under eye circles.

Two Ways to Conceal the Bags:

1- To Really conceal bags, it’s best to highlight the crease and then apply a darker shade to the actual puffy area.

2- Use a lightweight concealer with a slight color-canceling (Color-Canceling Loose  Powder (CC Powder) or Color Correctors) undertone and blend well. The color of your circles will depend on the undertone that you go for. If your circles are purple or blueish, look for a concealer with a salmon or orangey tone; if your circles appear black or greenish, look for one with a slight yellow tint. Generally (but not always), light complexions will need the salmon tones and darker skin will need the yellow. kylie-jenner-schaut-ernst

2- Radiant Creamy Concealer, NARS

KKW Powder Contour

kkw beauty kitAlthough KKW contour stick got really bad reviews. I honestly believe that the second product of Kim Kardashian is not so bad after all. The Powder Contour Kit in Medium is the one I own.

I loved it, I haven’t used the bronzer shade yet (I found it too dark and has an orange undertone which is not a favorite look of mine).

The compact is divided into four squares, each big enough to dip a bronzing/ contouring brush into aside from the brush that comes with it. The first color is a highlighter, creamy off white in color. Which I love the most, I apply it in the inner corner of my eyes, bridge of my nose and under my brows. It gives off the perfect shimmer illusion.

Second square is the concealer setter (that has a little bit of shimmer / if you like to set your concealers with that), a pale ivory shade that works.

The powder is super pigmented. Last but not least is a neutral taupe brown with no orangey tones blends extremely well, stays put and actually looks very natural even when heavily applied.

I apply this brown tone with no foundation sometimes if I’m in a hurry and need a little bit of contouring, it stays put and the color does not change tones when applied with foundation or without.

The KKW Powder Contour is great for beginners, and if you’re into a nice highlighter shine then this kit is for you. If she sells the highlighter on its own, I think it would be amazing !! I loved it more than other brands I tried, and would definitely continue using the highlighter, the contour part, well there are other brands too.

Contour Kit…

Anastasia Beverly Hill, Contour Kit. A palette with six shades, three for contouring and three for highlighting. Darker shades of the palette are for shading and defining while lighter shades are made to enhance features. The set contains all the colors to emphasize the jawlines, cheekbones, lips, browbones, eyes and nose.

Its variety of shades are suitable for most skin tones. For those with lighter skin, contour using Fawn. Those with medium skin should stick to Java. And lastly those with darker skin should be using Havana. I think all the highlight shades are fabulous and like there is a shimmer one as well. I especially love Banana as its yellow undertones mask virtually any redness and is perfect for setting your under eye concealer.

Anastasia-Beverly-Hills-Contour-Kit-Light-to-Medium-Review

Contour + Highlight Tip:  Draw lines down either side of your nose with a shade 2-3 tones darker than your skin tone. This gives the illusion of a longer, slimmer nose. You can also apply the darker shade under your cheekbones to exaggerate them. The key is to BLEND. You can also apply the contour on your jawline to define and slim your face. Dab a highlighter on the top of cheekbones, your cupid’s bow and down the center of the nose for a dewy finish. There you have it xxx

  • “Determine first how far out you want to wing the liner.”
  • “Using an nude or white pencil, draw a little dot at the outer corner of eyes to where you want the line to reach.”
  • “Draw the line along your lashes and connect the line to the dot for a perfectly even wing.”
  • “Lean your elbows on a flat surface or table in front of mirror so that you have a very steady hand. Wah lah!”

Eye Do

Eye do Liquid Liner, Eyebrow Gel by Eyeko. After hearing multiple reviews, I decided to try Eyeko’s very own Eye Do liner, and I loved it. It really reached my expectations,  it’s easy to hold,  trace the line and perfect the cat eye look in just a second.image
As for the Eye brow Gel, I usually use the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder, I mean I still do. But the Eyebrow Gel by Eyeko can be used daily, day and night. I normally use the Anastasia Beverly Hills with Eyeko Brow Gel at night together, on occasions.

For your Eyeshape

When it comes to eyeliner, there isn’t a shape that is going to make you look bad, but the way you line your eye can either make the makeup look bad and outdated.

1426176842-syn-2-1426110166-eyeliner-1

Asymmetrical Eyes: (One is slightly larger than the other) Line the lashline, from the inner corner to the outer corner, increasing the width at the outer corner on the slightly uneven eye only to make it appear wider and even.

Close-Set Eyes: All you need to do for this eyeshape is create an illusion that your eyes are wider apart than they are. Use a concealer on the inner corners to lighten and open up the eye area. Then, on the outer third part of your eye, create a “V” shape using a black liner, and then trace the shape with a jumbo liquid liner to make a thick wing.

Monolids: Extend the Eyeliner/Eyeshadow along the upperlid. Line the lashline from inner to outer corner and stopping where the eye ends. You can also smudge it out at the outer corners, using a small smudger brush.

Wide Eyes : Wide eyes can handle a lot of look, so go bold/dramatic. Using a waterproof black liner pencil, create a tiny “V” in the inner corner of your eye. Then, go over the line with a liquid liner wing it out at the outer corner.

Small Eyes: To widen small eyes, apply a taupe shadow over the eyelid all the way up to the crease. Next, along the lashline, use a black kohl pencil, smudge it with your fingertip and top with a dark brown eye shadow, increasing the amount of shadow at the outer corners.  Lastly, apply a light pink blush using an eyeshadow brush to the upper outer corners of your eyelid, which instantly opens up the eye.

Almond Eyes: To work with almond eyes, line the inner upper and lower lashes with a waterproof kohl pencil the entire way around your eyes, then trace the outer corners of the upper and lower lashlines, smudging it with a smudged brush. Then, top it with a metallic grey shadow to soften it and use bronzer to even out with the crease for a more natural look.
