Coconut Oil as a Makeup Remover?

Coconut oil, a favorite of the Victoria’s Secret Models, that reminds you of the sand on your feet and salted breeze by the beach.

Other than its fresh and beach-y scent it has great benefits for the skin, acting as a makeup remover is one of them. I was surprised by how quickly it took off eye makeup and by how easily it worked and it actually removes waterproof mascara without rubbing the eye out.

Surprisingly so many celebrities are on for this routine, some use it as a natural mouth wash (removing stains from the teeth), some use it as a makeup remover and others use it as a form of the “no make up look” as a dewy look.

Here’s How:- Since coconut oil is solid at room temperature, scoop out a little and rub it between your fingers to warm it up first. Smooth that over your skin with your fingers, then wipe it off with a dry cotton ball and it’ll take your makeup with it. Repeat until all of your makeup is gone and then maybe one or two more times.

Why?: Coconut oil breaks up water-resistant substances used in eye shadow and mascara, releasing them from the skin and lashes, it’ll even leave your skin softer and younger-looking. It’s great for your skin, because it moisturizes, soothes and hydrates.

***Disclaimer : Please do not use if you have allergies or skin irritation.

For your Eyeshape

When it comes to eyeliner, there isn’t a shape that is going to make you look bad, but the way you line your eye can either make the makeup look bad and outdated.

Asymmetrical Eyes: (One is slightly larger than the other) Line the lashline, from the inner corner to the outer corner, increasing the width at the outer corner on the slightly uneven eye only to make it appear wider and even.

Close-Set Eyes: All you need to do for this eyeshape is create an illusion that your eyes are wider apart than they are. Use a concealer on the inner corners to lighten and open up the eye area. Then, on the outer third part of your eye, create a “V” shape using a black liner, and then trace the shape with a jumbo liquid liner to make a thick wing.

Monolids: Extend the Eyeliner/Eyeshadow along the upperlid. Line the lashline from inner to outer corner and stopping where the eye ends. You can also smudge it out at the outer corners, using a small smudger brush.

Wide Eyes : Wide eyes can handle a lot of look, so go bold/dramatic. Using a waterproof black liner pencil, create a tiny “V” in the inner corner of your eye. Then, go over the line with a liquid liner wing it out at the outer corner.

Small Eyes: To widen small eyes, apply a taupe shadow over the eyelid all the way up to the crease. Next, along the lashline, use a black kohl pencil, smudge it with your fingertip and top with a dark brown eye shadow, increasing the amount of shadow at the outer corners.  Lastly, apply a light pink blush using an eyeshadow brush to the upper outer corners of your eyelid, which instantly opens up the eye.

Almond Eyes: To work with almond eyes, line the inner upper and lower lashes with a waterproof kohl pencil the entire way around your eyes, then trace the outer corners of the upper and lower lashlines, smudging it with a smudged brush. Then, top it with a metallic grey shadow to soften it and use bronzer to even out with the crease for a more natural look.

Silky Thick Groom

hairstyles-trends-2015-16 134f9fdbbec7b6ce70472ec774d72bedHair treatments, the most confusing. We are promised so many long lasting results. Formulas vary from silicone-based, to alcohol free, to natural, to curl enhancing, etc… I tried a couple of products that I believe helped in thicken my hair and have a long lasting shine. In this post I will share with you my top products along with some simple hair remedies you can try at home.

1- Kerastase Lumiere Liquid: It’s quite pricey, however it can last for a year since you just need one or two hair drops for all hair types. This serum gives extreme shine and is extremely weightless. When you spray it on your hand and put it on your hair you bareful feel anything. But you get the shine.

2-Kiehl’s Silk Groom Serum: It can pretty much straighten curly hair. You however have to apply it on wet hair before blow drying your hair as it also helps with minimizing tangles. This serum is mostly recommended for those with curly hair but can also work on any hair types as you can always put it on the tips of your hair for defrizzing.

3- Apple Cider Vinegar: Yes it stinks, but when you leave it in your hair for around 30 minutes before you shower, the silky shine you get is unbelievable. The smell will still remain after you wash it, but only you can smell it. For best results I apply apple cider vinigar on my hair, tie it and cover it with a plastic bag for hydrating effects. (please do not try if you have an irritation to vinigar).
